3D Scanning

The opposite of 3D-printing?

3D scanning is basically the opposite of 3D printing. Unlike printing a digital model into something tangible, 3D scanning digitises a physical product. This way, it can be read and used in a 3D environment. Like 3D printing, 3D scanning offers many possibilities. The scanners can therefore be used for various purposes. Discover the possibilities below.

To measure is to know

Existing installations can be measured quickly and accurately with the help of our 3D laser scanner. The complexity of the installation is of minor importance. The direct result of a measuring session is a so-called point cloud. This point cloud can be used for measuring, checking and modelling. By modelling in this real 3D environment, one can immediately see whether a design will fit in the actual situation.

Why 3D-scanning?

Quality control

By scanning a manufactured product and projecting it onto the 3D CAD model, we can perfectly identify any differences/flaws.

Reverse engineering

Is there an existing part for which we don’t have a 3D-file? With 3D-scanning, we can reproduce an existing design and then print it out, or even improve it.
